Is Home Credit SEC Registered? Status Explained
Contents
Yes. Home Credit is SEC registered. Its paperwork is the strongest we have verified in this series. The operator is HC Consumer Finance Philippines Inc., a financing company with Certificate of Authority No. 1071. That number comes straight from the SEC's public financing-companies registry. Issue date: April 7, 2017, alongside registration number CS201301354. The "My Home Credit" platform also appears on the official recorded platforms list dated January 26, 2026. Verified September 16, 2026.

Registry status and product access are different questions, and Home Credit is the clearest example in our tables. The full review prices the loan; this page explains the paperwork.
The strongest status we can print
Most lending apps publish a certificate number that no public tool can confirm, which forces our reviews to label those numbers "secondary". Home Credit sits at the other end of the ladder. The operator is a financing company, and financing companies have a public, searchable registry. Its entry shows CA 1071 with an issue date going back to 2017. Primary means we read it in the regulator's own record, not in a footer, a store listing, or an aggregator.
That gives the brand two layers of verification at once: the certificate in the registry and the platform on the recorded list, published under MC 19, series of 2019. No enforcement action against the corporation appears in our records through June 2026. If you want the formal confirmation anyway, Check With SEC and the 1-4SEC hotline both work the same as for anyone else.
What registration does not cover
The clean registry does not answer the questions borrowers actually ask, so let us be blunt about the three it does not.
The rate has three official versions. The website says monthly rates "start at 2.32%". The disclosures page says nominal rates run 1.49% to 8.99% per month, with an average monthly effective rate of 3.89%. The stores say 2.49% to 8.49% per month, 30% to 102% a year. All three are Home Credit's own channels. Registration guarantees the lender is licensed; it does not guarantee one number.
The cash loan has a gate. The application page states Home Credit "currently provide[s] cash loans to our existing customers". New users may be routed to store-installment products first. Legality was never the barrier; customer history is.
The fee stack is tall. Beyond interest sit a processing fee (two published versions: up to ₱500, or 3% capped at ₱1,000, deducted from proceeds) and optional add-ons that reach ₱599 a month at their caps. The review prices all of it; the disclosure statement in the app prices yours.
How to verify Home Credit yourself
Four checks, in order of strength.
- Search the public registry. appointment.sec.gov.ph lists HC Consumer Finance Philippines Inc. with CA 1071, issued April 7, 2017. Primary, by you.
- Confirm the platform record. The January 26, 2026 list includes "My Home Credit".
- Ask the regulator. Check With SEC for request-based confirmation; 1-4SEC for the phone.
- Use the official channels. homecredit.ph and the two store listings. Look-alike apps borrow famous names; SEC advisories through 2026 keep naming impostors of registered brands.
What registration gives you (and what it does not)
What it gives you:
- A licensed financing company under RA 8556, seven-plus years on the public record.
- A regulator with demonstrated teeth; the 2025 revocation wave removed companies that broke the rules.
- A traceable identity: the corporation behind the app stores' biggest installment name is on file, by name and certificate.
What it does not give you:
- One price. Three official rate versions and a fee stack make the EIR the only fair comparison, per our methodology.
- Access for everyone. The existing-customer gate decides who can take a cash loan today.
- Freedom from impostors. The more famous the brand, the harder the clones work.
Frequently asked questions
Is Home Credit legit ba?
Legit ba? Yes, with the strongest record in our tables: a primary CA 1071 from the public registry, a recorded platform, and no enforcement action in our records. The cautions are commercial: three rate versions, optional add-ons, and a cash-loan gate for existing customers.
Is Home Credit a bank?
No. It is a financing company regulated by the SEC, not a bank supervised by the BSP. That is why its certificate lives in the SEC's financing-companies registry rather than a banking list.
What is Home Credit's CA number?
1071, issued April 7, 2017, on the public record for HC Consumer Finance Philippines Inc., registration CS201301354. You can read it yourself at appointment.sec.gov.ph, or confirm through Check With SEC and the 1-4SEC hotline.
Can anyone get a Home Credit cash loan?
Not today. The application page states cash loans go to existing customers. New users are typically onboarded through store-installment products first; ask in the app, and keep a same-day alternative ready if cash is urgent.
The bottom line for borrowers
Home Credit is SEC registered, verified September 16, 2026: HC Consumer Finance Philippines Inc., CS201301354, CA 1071 primary in the public registry since 2017, platform on the January 26, 2026 list. Legality was never the question. The rate dialects, the fee stack, and the existing-customer gate are; the full review handles all three, and the SEC registered lending apps list shows the rest of the verified market.
