PesoLoan Interest Rate: What You Actually Pay
Contents
PesoLoan's interest rate is one of the clearest published ceilings in our tables: a maximum of 20% per year, stated in its App Store listing alongside a complete worked example. What the listing never publishes is any fee, of any kind, at any size. This page verifies the ceiling math, prices the example, and builds the checklist that closes the fee gap before you commit. Checked September 16, 2026.
The listing's example, verified
| Figure | Value (App Store example) |
|---|---|
| Principal | ₱20,000 |
| Term | 91 days |
| Monthly rate | 1.67% (the 20% ceiling divided by 12) |
| Interest per month | ₱334 |
| Total interest | ₱1,011.11 |
| Total repayment | ₱21,011.11 |
The arithmetic checks out. Our effective-rate recompute lands almost exactly on the advertised cap. The formula: (1,011.11 ÷ 20,000) × 365 ÷ 91 comes to about 20.3% a year (our estimate). The example describes the ceiling rate, not necessarily your offer; smaller or shorter loans may price below it.
The benchmark and the gap
Our benchmark: ₱5,000 for 30 days. At the 20% ceiling that month costs about ₱82 of interest (our estimate). On interest alone, that is among the friendliest published numbers we track. It sits next to VPlus's 18% cap and Moca Moca's 20%.
The gap is everything else. PesoLoan publishes no processing fee, no service fee, no disbursement charge, and no late penalty. If any such charge applies, it appears for the first time on your offer screen. Interest-only math is therefore a floor, not a forecast; the five checks below exist for exactly this reason.
The five checks that close the gap
Read the offer screen for five specifics before accepting: the exact pesos credited (after any deduction), the total repayment (interest plus every fee), any fee names with amounts, a due date inside your chosen 91-to-180-day window, and the late penalty. Screenshot whatever the screen shows. The PesoLoan review carries the full checklist with the registry context.
How it compares with rivals
Against published competition, the ceiling is strong: level with Moca Moca's interest cap and behind only VPlus's 18%, with none of Moca Moca's fee load disclosed in advance. If your offer screen shows no fees at all, PesoLoan is genuinely cheap money. If it shows fees, compare the total against MoneyCat's free first loan before deciding. The loan calculator does the math either way.

PesoLoan publishes a clean 20% yearly ceiling and a verified example, then goes silent on fees. Interest-only, it is among the cheapest registered options we track; the offer screen decides whether that survives contact with reality. The registry side, entry No. 60 since 2019 and the two-word clone, is in our PesoLoan review, with the license check at is PesoLoan SEC registered.
